AG Surveys is delighted to have been awarded the new 6 year framework contract for the south west coastal monitoring programme.  Starting at Sennen Cove right up to the Severn Estuary, we survey a total of 49 units.  From the beginning of 2022 we are busy with baseline surveys, followed by annual or bi-annual profile surveys and ad-hoc post-storm surveys. These provide a detailed topographical survey and a height model that can be compared with previous years.  The data is sent to scientists at PCO who can analyse:

•  the natural behaviour of the beach,
•  other factors are affecting the moving sediment
•  changes there are that are due to erosion and climate change.

The latest beach monitoring survey at Sennen was walked with GPS to collect the data due to proximity of an air field and no access with Quad bike.
