Today we finished the site survey for the final and 80th baseline survey on the TSW2 to TSW4 coastal monitoring survey framework. We started these baselines in January and adhering to the low tide windows in order to measure safely to MLWS, a few “off days” for the odd storm, we pretty much finished the baseline data collection on time. This will be a temporary end to being on the beaches every other weekend, as the tidal windows only slowly move to the middle of the week. While the majority of beaches were surveyed the traditional way with DGNSS, over 20 beach units have been flown by our drone and data extracted from the aerial photography, resulting in extra dataset available for the monitoring and assessments.
